CONCRETE MIX DESIGN
Readymix is proud to cater to our client’s requirements and specification to provide customized concrete mix design. Our computerized batching system linked to the ERP software is fast and provides accurate quality control and traceability ensuring mix design specifics. Our fly ash SCM is highly recognized by the Green Building Council of Brunei Darussalam.
SUPPLY OF RAW MATERIALS
Readymix has full control of aggregates through independent importation to ensure quality and consistency. Cement is acquired daily and directly from Butra Heidelberg Cement to accommodate major projects. Coarse aggregates are imported from Malaysia whereas fly ash are imported from India. Imports are endorsed by Badan Kemajuan Industri Brunei (BINA).
RENTAL OF HEAVY VEHICLES
Readymix has the largest fleet of mixer trucks, tipper trailers, and cement takers in Brunei Darussalam with capability to deploy machineries on short notice. Our vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking system to serve customers’ requirements more effectively. We are also able to provide STL compliance mixer trucks to accommodate strict BSP orders.

Readymix is a second-generation family business established in 1962 by Mr. Ian Cocks in Adelaide, Australia. Since then, the establishment has expanded its operations throughout South East Asia, namely Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

MANAGEMENT TEAM
MR. HAMIDDON HAJI MOHAMMAD
Mr. Hamiddon Said joined the Readymix team in 2019 as its Director after retiring from the Public Works Department (JKR) where he worked for over 27 years. Mr. Hamiddon graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Engineering under the Brunei Government Scholarship. He was in-charge of overseeing concrete and construction materials with JKR and was also involved in the ASEAN Consultative Committee for Standards and Quality with ABCi. His experience under the Ministry of Development included a position as a resource person for material science under the committee of science and technology. He is also a team member of the Ministry of Development office in fast tracking projects as the Istana Project Supervisor.
MR. PHILIP FORREST
Mr. Philip Forrest is the non-Executive Chairman of Readymix and Ready Venture. He is also a non-executive director of several Singapore Companies, and one ASX-listed company. After a career in banking as Citibank’s Country Head in Thailand and ANZ’s Head of Asia, he is now a Singapore-based independent company director focused on the Australia and ASEAN commercial relationship. He has been presented with the President’s Medal by the Australian Chamber of Commerce, Singapore for his contribution to the ASEAN and Australia business relations. He is also an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Institute for Business and Economics.
MR. JONATHON CAMPBELL COCKS
Mr. Jonathon Cocks is a Founder and Director of Readymix. Jon studied Mechanical Engineering, and later Robotics, at Sydney University and joined Readymix in 1994. He has held roles in Operations, IT, Accounting, Finance and Project Management and has lived and worked in South East Asia since 1994 developing businesses in Australia, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam.
MR. NICHOLAS CAMPBELL COCKS
Mr. Nicholas Cocks is a Founder and a Director of Readymix. Nick started his career in 1985 as an accountant with Arthur Andersen Co in Sydney, Australia. He left the profession in 1989 to join his father’s readymix concrete business in Adelaide, Australia. Six months later they sold the company to Adelaide Brighton Cement and Nick turned his attention to South East Asia. He has lived and worked in the region since, developing business in Australia, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam.
MR. YAP CHIN TEK
Yap Chin Tek serves as Director and Senior Advisor for Readymix Brunei. He has been with the company since May 1999, having previously held the position of General Manager. In his current role, Yap is responsible for overseeing overall operations in Brunei and contributes significantly to the company’s strategic business planning and development initiatives. With over 40 years of industry experience, Yap possesses deep expertise and operational knowledge in the concrete and construction materials sector, playing a pivotal role in supporting the Group’s continued success in the region.

I have been working with JEL for seven years now, but we have only began getting our concrete supplies from Readymix in 2018. I believe that their CRC, sales team, has always been helpful and supportive. Readymix has always been able to accommodate all our orders. They have set up an on-site batching plant at one of our project sites to cater to the large volume required.
I have only been working with Indramas for two years but I believe that the company has always gotten their concrete supply from Readymix before I even started here. Readymix is our main concrete supplier and we have had no major issues so far. It has always been easy for me to deal with their sales team. I can see that they are always concerned about our projects and its progress, they’re easy to deal with and also very friendly. I hope that Readymix will increase their fleet to accommodate larger projects and more customers.
I have always dealt liaised with one of Readymix’s Customer Relations Consultants. It has always been pleasant and efficient dealing with her. In terms of delivery, I believe it’s a give-and-take situation, there were surely times when there were delays, but this was understandable situation because the road traffic flow were unpredictable at times. There also times when we would be the ones to make the drivers wait but we have always had a good relationship with Readymix.
