Readymix is a second generation Australian owned family business, owned and managed by Nick and Jonathon Cocks. Readymix concrete has operations in South East Asia.
Over the years the Readymix business has expanded in South East Asia and today operates three divisions – Concrete, Piles and On-site.
1962 Readymix founded by Ian Cocks in Adelaide,
Australia. One (1) batching plant and four (4) trucks.
1964 Readymix expands to the state of Victoria with “Peninsular Mix”.
1967 Acquisition of 50% of Southern Quarries Pty Ltd, a major concrete aggregate quarry outside Adelaide.
1974 Darwin operations of Readymix established via the “Direct Mix” brand. Howard Springs Construction Sands and U-Cart Mini Mix follow.
1982 Established Sun Mix Concrete Sdn Bhd in Malaysia, a JV with Sungei Way Group. Now known as Hanson, the country’s largest Readymix concrete supplier.
1983 Expansion to Brunei. Readymix opens a batch plant in Bandar Seri Begawan. Later expands into quarrying through the acquisition of New Temburong Quarries.
1990 Sale of the Australian operations to Australia’s largest cement producer – Adelaide Brighton Cement.
1992 Readymix opens in Indonesia with batch plants in East Java.
1993 Opening of Readymix Vietnam operations with a batch plant in Hanoi.
1995 Readymix Singapore head office established. Ownership and control now centered in Asia.
1996 Creation of the Readymix On-site division.
2001 Readymix expands into quarrying in Indonesia with the opening of its Jeladri Quarry.
2003 Readymix unifies its operations by adopting the Readymix brand across all its operations.
2004 Readymix launches “Readymix Pile” in Brunei.
2004 - 2008 Readymix expands in Brunei and Vietnam with the addition of two (2) new plants in Brunei
and three (3) new plants in Vietnam.
2008 The Readymix Indonesia business is sold to Holcim.
2010 Readymix Vietnam was awarded ISO9001 status and opens Hanoi quarry
2014 Readymix Vietnam temporarily ceased trading due to collapse of local market
